Who are Expert Answers?
Expert Answers is quite simply a UK based online legal advice website.
Expert Answers was conceived after a chance meeting between Lloyd Barrett an Ecommerce Consultant and Jim Martin a solicitor at a local networking event. During a conversation it transpired that both were often being asked for 'ad hoc' information on either the law or how to make a website more successful.
Further research identified a need in the UK for those who wanted quick reliable legal advice but did not want or could not afford to pay high street prices. High street solicitors charges range from £150 per hour to £200 and Barristers £250 - £350 per hour.
Practically every person has some need to know their legal position in a variety of situations throughout the course of their life:
Am I entitled to do xxx in public / in my own home / in rented premises?;
Is my landlord / ex-partner / employer / neighbour / anyone allowed to treat me in yyy way in zzz situation?
What is my position regarding ownership of property, making sure my will says what I want it to, appointing a guardian, assigning power of attorney?
Very few people are rich enough to have their own legal people who can answer the slightest question.
